Beards and mustaches are a key component of the male image, highlighting their natural appearance and features. Considered the sole cosmetic feature of men, beards and mustaches often fail to grow due to skin diseases, genetics, become sparse or fall out, or are lost due to trauma (injury). These conditions have become a problem for many men today. This leads to a lack of self-confidence and inability to express themselves adequately, psychologically diminishing their quality of life. In these cases, beard and mustache transplants, developed by Haarex Clinic, utilize a cutting-edge method using a 0.5-0.6 mm needle at a 20-25 degree angle, without opening any channels on the face. This allows for permanent and satisfactory results in men with minimal incisions and minimal damage.

How is a Beard and Mustache Transplant Performed?

First of all, unlike traditional methods, there are no incisions or channels on the face during our beard and mustache transplants. The tissue healing process is very rapid. This leaves no permanent scarring or damage to the transplanted area. With the FUE method, single hair follicles from the nape of the head are used as the donor area using a micromotor.

The use of single hair follicles is crucial for aesthetic and natural results. Transplants are performed without opening channels and using needles of 0.5-0.6 mm diameter at 20-25 degree angles. It can be applied to anyone over the age of 20 with no health problems.

Step 1: Local Needle-Free Anesthesia and Hair Follicle Collection

First, the shape of the transplanted area is determined. The number of grafts (hair follicles) required for transplantation is calculated, and the nape of the head is anesthetized with needle-free anesthesia. Using the FUE method, the grafts are collected individually from the nape of the head using a micromotor, arranged in a special solution, and stored in the transplantation solution until the transplantation stage. This procedure takes approximately 2 hours, depending on the calculated graft requirement.

Step 2: Local Needle-Free Anesthesia and Transplantation of the Roots

The area where the beard or mustache transplant will be performed is numbed with a Comfort-Inci device using needle-free anesthesia. The roots are then transplanted simultaneously, aligned at 20-25 degree angles, in line with the natural growth direction of the beard or mustache, using special needles with a root thickness of 0.5-0.06 mm, without opening a canal. This final step takes approximately 3 hours, depending on the number of roots transplanted. For beard transplants, 1500-2500 grafts (hair follicles) are used, while for mustache transplants, 400-800 grafts (hair follicles) are used.

After Beard Transplantation

For the first 48 hours after the beard or mustache transplant, avoid washing or touching the beard or mustache with water. Avoid intense facial expressions for 24 hours. Red spots, hardness, and skin tension in the transplanted area are normal for the first three days. These symptoms resolve spontaneously after one week without any intervention.

Hair that begins to grow after the transplant can be trimmed with scissors if desired after 15 days. Electric shavers should not be used for three months.
